J. Benjamin Jackson III, MD, MBA, FAOA, FACS
Orthopedic Surgery
Dr. Jackson is an orthopedic surgeon and associate professor of surgery at the University of South Carolina School of Medicine. He graduated from Wake Forest University School of Medicine Medical School and underwent his orthopedic residency training at Carolinas Medical Center, in Charlotte, North Carolina. This was followed by a foot and ankle fellowship at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City. His MBA was awarded from the University of South Carolina’s Darla Moore School of Business.

Dr. Jackson has since evolved to national prominence as a foot and ankle surgeon. He has eight textbook chapters and over 40 peer-reviewed articles to his credit and is a recipient of over $3 million in federal research funding. He serves on committees within the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons and the American Orthopedic Foot and Ankle Society. Dr. Jackson is a reviewer for four leading orthopedic journals, holds a utility patent for an orthopedic device and has several other patents pending. He research has been recognized by orthopedic manufactures and has been sought out for the development of orthopedic devices and procedures.

Locally, he is the Head Team Physician for the University of South Carolina track and field and cross-county teams and was a member of the medical staff for the 2020 US Olympic track and field trials. Dr. Jackson was both a cross-county and track and field NCAA All-American and an academic All-American.
